The new extension for Campus Genevois de la Haute Horlogerie on the outskirts of Geneva, halfway between the natural environment and its industrial past.
A workspace where people become the focus, with the aim of humanising the technological space by studying the behaviour of workers and creating places for interaction and concentration. To achieve a workspace that will serve as an inspiration for those who work in it.
Rather than attempting to please just one specific generation, the new offices needed to suit all age groups and remain suitable over time.
Studying the industrial environment of the area and its interaction with the surrounding nature became the creative thread for the choice of colours, materials and furniture.
The workspace was conceived as a place for holding various types of meetings based on the number of people and need for privacy, creating tailor-made spaces for all needs and situations.
The bespoke, floating furniture meets the rigorous requirements of Well certification, ensuring that all materials used exhibit low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
The material chosen for part of the bespoke furniture consisted of wood sourced from sustainable and recycled sources up to 70%. We also selected carpets with Cradle to Cradle and Circular Selection certification, thus ensuring their positive contribution to the product lifecycle and ensuring a 100% recyclable base. This – in synergy with the adopted biophilic criteria, which promote an enriching connection between users and nature – and the extensive use of natural light, reinforces our commitment to sustainable design. These choices make this project an office oriented towards the future, where care for the environment and ease of use coexist in perfect harmony.
