We looked into the origins of Raiffeisen Bank to find our way to its new image. With this proposal we were awarded the international tender for the Raiffeisen Bank office in Nyon (Switzerland).
The project is a window into the company’s future, a flexible and innovative space in its approach to banking and customer relations. A design for a welcoming and people-friendly place.
The continuity and flexibility of spaces is one of the most important elements of design, providing the option to change how the spaces are used and the type of activities carried out there through the use of mobile panels, curtains and mobile furniture, which allow the main spaces in the office to be easily modified.
The materials, furniture and decorative elements have been used to create domestic spaces, such as a living room, kitchen or home office.
The furniture stands out for its comfort and natural tones. The premise during the selection was to evoke a domestic yet elegant aesthetic.
The geographical location of the project led us to favour Nordic, Belgian and French furniture. This decision helped minimise the carbon footprint associated with transport, along with the inclusion of local industries, such as carpentry, which supported the local economy.
We retained the original office ceiling – with only one side of the panelling painted – and left the existing flooring intact, thereby avoiding a significant amount of material waste by integrating existing elements into the new design.
We combined various elements to achieve an innovative and functional design that strikes just the right balance between aesthetics and sustainability. Part of the custom-made furniture was upholstered with jute and raffia, which not only contribute to a pleasant and relaxed aesthetic but also promote the use of natural fibres. For the meeting room carpets, we opted for materials produced under the principles of circularity, promoting their lifecycle and material reuse.
