In the heart of the splendid Costa Brava, Villa Cap Roig embodies the perfect harmony between Mediterranean charm and contemporary atmosphere. This exceptional residence, located in the picturesque village of Calella de Palafrugell, has undergone a thorough renovation that has transformed this villa from the 70s into an oasis of style and comfort. The owners, accompanied by architect Ivana Tuneu and interior designer Aude May from Bloomint Design, have transformed this once dark and dated villa into a jewel of Mediterranean.
At the heart of the renovation, light is the essential actor. From the first moments, its omnipresence is striking. The large outward-facing bay windows generously invite natural light to flood the renovated spaces. Cleverly integrated skylights create plays of light, flooding the once dark corners of the house.
In addition, interior bay windows offer the possibility of enjoying a magnificent overall view of the interior of the residence, as well as of the exterior landscapes offering magnificent views of the protected natural area of the Gavarres massif. Light and nature thus become the soul of this renovation, transforming each space into a haven of clarity and beauty, where interior and exterior blend harmoniously.
The walls are immaculately white, creating a neutral canvas that highlights the other elements of the rooms. This use of white gives an impression of brightness and space.
The neutral and natural tones blend harmoniously with the white walls, creating a serene and balanced atmosphere. Details in black, such as doors, switches, fittings and window frames, provide a striking contrast and become eye-catching visual accents in the space. These elements in black add a dimension of sophistication and modernity to the whole. The use of natural materials such as raw wood, stone and linen completes the style by providing a warm and organic texture.
The careful selection of materials and decorative objects was also at the heart of this renovation. Local craftsmen were solicited as well as the many second-hand goods dealers in the region, adding a touch of authenticity to the residence. Finally, carefully chosen works of art and paintings added the finishing touch to the whole.
