Sports Bar is a restaurant and bar concept located in Geneva, within the iconic Brutalist building from the 1960s that now houses the Vernets Sports Center.
Our proposal seeks to respect the essence of the original building by stripping the space down to highlight its authenticity, removing recent interventions, and emphasizing its original architectural elements with a fresher, warmer, and more dynamic vision. We drew inspiration from the building’s own cores to distribute the space around focal points of activity, where architecture encourages interaction and dynamism, creating a connection with the urban project. The goal is to create an immersive experience that allows users to take ownership of the space, project themselves into it, and provide a human scale to the environment.
For the concept, we use water, earth, and light as a dialogue, merging architecture and sport. Contrasts between curved shapes and varied textures evoke water reflections and earthy tones. We take advantage of skylights to integrate greenery and design custom-made furniture that blends into the architecture. This fusion of aesthetics and functionality aims to create a meeting point for conviviality, creativity, and dynamism.
